also, I watched a couple films at school last week: end of the line and blue gold. both very eye opening. check them out if you have a chance.

I crave organization.

I also crave shells, books and colour which makes these photos quite appropriate :)

strike.

so I spent the day at home because my university went on strike today.. sounds lovely being that this means a "day off" but really not so lovely because I don't want this silly thing to last and the semester have to be extended. hope everyone comes to their senses and we are back next week. my teachers expect us to just keep up with the work load as if we were in class so needless to say I did spend time doing homework.

but I also...

* had tea, muffins, fruit and a gossip session this morning with the girls at my place.
* had a cinnamon raisin bagel-thin with peanut butter(bagel-thins are probably my new favourite thing)

* had a visit with my parents
* and! finished my book. yes, yes I am a slow reader during the school year because I spend the majority of my time reading textbooks and notes. room by emma donoghue was great! and my new book: the sea captain's wife.

all in all, a good day.

off to yoga.

yin my worries away..

I tried something new this week.. yin yoga!
of all the yoga classes I have done of different variations I have yet to try yin- and it was a pleasant surprise! in general, I tend to enjoy a more intense, flow or power yoga class but yin is slowed WAY down and you hold the poses for a long period of time. the goal is to get into the deep connective tissue and it was fantastic! we only did about 12 poses the entire class. also, it was a totally new studio that I tried which has free classes all week! bonus! I swear yoga is ten times better when it is free :)
I went to the class with one of my lovely friends courtney and we are headed to another class together tonight :)

then thursday- vinyasa flow in the hot room! should be sweaty. can't wait

this is my favourite yin pose: butterfly. I could stay here for hours.

happy humpday!

weekend.

we had a fantastic weekend.

highlights included: two movies!(I haven't had the chance to watch one in ages!) I saw love and other drugs which was perfect for a girlie evening and lots of candy :) and 127 hours, this delicious apple crisp with ice cream and shared with great friends, a nice sunday walk with d, catching up with family, and teddy's retirement party! I made these blondies for the party but I added banana as well and they turned out quite well! yay for weekends :) now back to school...

cupcakes galore..

lemon cupcakes with raspberry frosting + chocolate cupcakes filled with a coconut cream cheese filling topped with coloured icing. and I can't take credit for this- it was all my mom!

hope everyone had a great weekend.
